Overlay is a database program that allows events to compile facility build & infrastructure requirements of various departments and functional areas (marketing, sponsorship, venue operations, governing body etc.) and export these requirements to the contractors responsible for venue construction (e.g. television hire, furniture hire, catering companies, marquee construction). It also allows events to manage the budget of various contracts throughout the build, manage variations and report defects during the event period. There is currently no high-quality, industry standard software in the events industry and the software currently used by high profile events is outdated and counter-intuitive. Overlay has been made by experienced end-users of the current software, resulting in software that provides exactly the features demanded by the major event industry.
