SpectaclesX

SpecX is a solution designed to facilitate the search for the perfect pair of eye wear whilst in an optical retail store. It comprises of precision facial feature acquisition coupled with a virtual platform from which the user can efficiently find and try all stocked eye wear. In our research we have found that online glasses stores do not follow typical patterns for e-commerce, as the buying experience inevitably involves visiting a bricks and mortar store. We have combined the best of available technology to create a seamless and user friendly experience that focuses on in-store retail, something largely neglected due the proliferation of the web. Any optical store interested in happier customers and increased productivity is potentially a customer for SpecX. SpecX will help the optical store increase their accessible product without the corresponding increase in floor space while reducing the cost associated with each sale by allowing the customer to self-serve comfortably.
