Our smartphone application - Cogeo - quickly recommends places for you to go based on your desired mood, scene, or activity. It can find a place for any desire - “A romantic place that has an amazing view,” for example or “A challenging hike in a serene and remote location,” or “A quirky cafe where it's easy to write my blog.” Cogeo can understand your normal language and will return the places that best match your search in a visually focused, clean and simple manner. Cogeo gets its information from a huge user generated data base that stores links between places and the desires they fulfill. The sharing of cool places is facilitated and encouraged through users forming open communities of like minded people. This not only makes Cogeo practical, but social as well. Initially Cogeo is focused on international students and visitors to Melbourne (62 000, and 3.8 million annually). But we aim to expand this market to the 822 million 18-34 year old smartphone users out there.
