Cheersee.co was initially positioned as a location-based social network for people to share experiences and hobbies with friends and people nearby. A week after launch, we realize Cheersee has better position to improve the conversion rate from an online match to an offline date as well as success rate after a date. Hence, we decided to pivot Cheersee into an social dating platform. To solve the above problems, Cheersee has gamification mechanism which matches people based on performance as well as peer-reviewed profile system which helps user make better decision on choosing partner. We believe, by imitating the nature (contest for a date) and make enhancement with human system (peer-review), Cheersee has great potential to chance the current dating landscape. Although the positioning is a bit different from initial idea, our vision remains the same. We believe the best way to build a meaningful relationship is only achieved by shared experiences, hobbies and personal touch.
