Eventca (pronounced event-sa) is a cloud based content management system (CMS) for publishing event collections. “Event collections” are organized listings of multiple events typically organized around dates, geography and category (genre, topic) that can be searched structurally (by date, geography and category) and searched by keyword. Eventca is not an event booking system. Eventca will solve two event data problems: 1.The Publishers Problem: Publishing event collections online in a seamless way that delivers structured and keyword search is complicated and expensive. 2.The Search Engine Problem: Accurately parsing and translating crawled non-structured whole of web data faces hurdles that are insurmountable today. A ubiquitous deployment of the free Eventca CMS would produce a global database of structured event data that would be very attractive to Google, Yahoo and Bing.
